Job Summary
The Buyer will work with Manufacturing, Sub-Contracts, Supplier Quality, Engineering and Program Controls teams to ensure that purchase orders are executed in an efficient manner and immediate procurement needs are met. We are looking for a candidate that:

  • Has the ability to analyze and work with many suppliers at once and determine great deals
  • Loves to negotiate with suppliers to create the best deals
  • Has procurement experience with mechanical and/or electronic parts and assemblies
  • Is proactive and ready to lend a hand even if it is not in your job description
  • Is enthusiastic about process improvement and finding solutions to bottlenecks and a go-getter that can thrive in any environment

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal customers (engineers) to ensure completion of source selection and procurements that meet program requirements (schedule, cost and quality); develop second/additional sources as needed
  • Actively manage the procurement process from order placement through receipt of products and subsequent payment of invoices.
  • Lead formal negotiations (price, schedule, and supplier exceptions) to contractual requirements.
  • Manage supplier performance through consistent communication to ensure proper adherence to purchase order terms and conditions
  • Coordinate with Supplier Relationship Management and Quality Team to develop and provide positive management of internal and external supplier relationships
  • Support Planning/Shipping & Receiving/Inventory efforts
  • Develop process and strategy such as VMI, Blanket Purchase Orders, Long-Term Agreements in partnership with Business Office and Subcontracts Teams
  • Develop standard purchasing reports with the software development team (Open Purchase Orders, Lead Time, Cycle Time, Program Purchase Report, etc.)
  • Be a key member of the process improvement of the ERP and MRP systems
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance,Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • 1 year minimum experience in aerospace procurement
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS
  • Familiarity with machined parts and assemblies, electronics, raw material, and/or other commodities
  • Basic understanding of price analysis methodologies 
     

Preferred Qualifications:‚Äč

  • APICS Certification 
  • 3+ years' experience in aerospace procurement
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS
