Job Summary

The Data Analytics Manager will manage the data science and analytics team at Millennium Space Systems. Responsibilities include serving as a primary point of contact for incoming team needs and requests, ensuring that projects are sufficiently well-defined for team members to execute them, assisting the team in determining the appropriate methods for problem solving, and serving as an interface between company leadership and the members of the team. Day-to-day work will also include technical scope, including reviewing and providing feedback about solutions developed by team members.

Likewise, the manager must be familiar enough with Data Science and Operations Research methods to understand the assumptions, strengths and weaknesses associated with a given method. These methods include regression and classification algorithms, unsupervised learning methods, optimization, simulation, statistical tests, and manipulating structured data.

Additionally, the team lead should be familiar with data validation/visualization best practices to support the teams’ implementation of key reports and dashboards for corporate use.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with team members to define scope and schedules for tasks
  • Work with internal stakeholders and data analytics team members to develop corporate solutions to novel problems
  • Provide feedback and coaching to team members on both existing tasks and longer-term developmental goals
  • Support the implementation of new systems and ensure that the team can effectively use the data generated by those systems
  • Negotiate priorities of tasks with Millennium leadership and other team members
  • Provide secondary support and quick-turnaround responses to high-priority requests
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience leading people in analytical roles, or equivalent mentoring/ project management experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience in analytical roles (e.g. Operations Research, Data Science/Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related subjects)
  • Intermediate proficiency with SQL, preferably T-SQL
  • Experience using at least one functional programming language, including but not limited to Python, Julia, R, or MATLAB
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or a similar data visualization suite
  • Familiarity with regression, classification, and unsupervised learning techniques
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of multiple functional programming languages
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL, preferably T-SQL
  • Experience using Python’s pandas, scikit-learn, and sqlalchemy packages
  • Experience using Integer Programming and/or Mixed Integer Linear Programming
  • Experience working with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • Experience working with Deltek Costpoint
  • Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Summary Pay-Range
  • Level K: $152,150 - $223,750
