Job Summary As an Advanced Projects Mission/Systems Engineer, you will participate in advanced space system design and development projects from concept through detailed design. You will perform technical research, design, and development engineering on early initiative, white paper, proposal, project, studies, and/or program development activities. You will develop future mission architectures, operations concepts, spacecraft, payloads, and their subsystems. You will design spacecraft to meet requirements.
Astrodynamics and orbital design and analysis
Develop operational concepts, architectures, and mission designs
Perform system design, analysis, and subsystem component selection & evaluation tasks necessary to deliver high performance spacecraft
Perform spacecraft configuration development and analyses
Participate in and/or lead multidisciplinary teams to perform projects
Develop and document required design processes
Prepare and update design and development plans and status reports
Develop and deliver quality project deliverables adhering to internal and customer standards
Prepare and deliver written and oral technical presentations to company executives and customers.
Execute proposal, project, and/or program activities
Participate in corporate business development activities
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics
Familiarity with Astrodynamics, Space Systems Architecture Development, Space Systems Engineering, and Spacecraft Subsystems
Advanced degree in Engineering,Science, or Mathematics
Five (plus) years of work-related experience
Ability to navigate uncertainty while maintaining objectivity and transparency
Expertise and experience with one or more space systems engineering and/or satellite subsystem disciplines
Strong familiarity and experience with Astrodynamics, Space Systems Architecture Development, Space Systems Engineering, and Spacecraft Subsystems
