Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality and Safety Inspector is a single person team responsible for incoming parts and hardware involving numerous quality duties and numerous administrative recordkeeping duties. When directed by Engineering, the candidate will inspect incoming parts and products through mechanical and/or electronic inspections. Candidates must have the ability to work and adapt in a diverse environment as a team player.
Incoming/Outgoing Receiving Inspection
Inspection of product with checking labels/documentation, visual count and inspection, release of product in online inventory system and, as required, place products in Uninspected Inventory Storage
Product Inspection: using engineering drawings and specification sheets:
Perform electronic measurement inspection of incoming parts
Other applicable inspection duties as required.
Providing applicable daily communication (e.g. emails, one-on-one tag ups, and/or group meetings) to Engineering, Receiving, Inventory, and Manufacturing stakeholders to drive inspection of incoming materials requiring inspection to their final resolution
Provide training for small groups of stakeholders on inspection resolution on online inventory system, as required
Supplier Data Records
For all shipments update supplier performance information
Monitor discrepancy reports (DR) for discrepant hardware
Counterfeit Components (GIDEP)
Monitor GIDEP reports to ensure counterfeits parts do not enter inventory
Create DR for suspect or identified counterfeit parts
Administrative Quality Duties:
Manage daily data entry spreadsheets of parts/hardware requiring inspection and/or resolution
Maintain metrics on DRs for parts and hardware
Input inventory data entry into online inventory system
File newly received specifications, process vendor shortages, process paperwork for missing product, duplicate vendor shipment process, process incorrect product shipments for return to vendor, process paperwork for damaged product upon Engineering approval, resolve any quality questions with internal customers, and complete vendor requested quality surveys
Managing, cleaning, maintaining and organizing of Dedicated Engineering Inspection Station as required
Adaptable and creative problem-solving abilities
Results oriented to bring projects to a successful conclusion using multiple systems and resources
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to collaboratively work with diverse group of people/Teams
Strong attention to detail
Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, aerospace certifications, and test reports
Previous experience with QA inspection process and techniques
Experience receiving packages, data entry, organizing, and scanning documentation
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Qualified candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Experience with an ISO-9001/AS9100 company
Two-year technical degree
