Job Summary
As an On Orbit Program Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing Millennium’s on orbit fleet of high performance satellites. This role is responsible for maintaining multiple on-orbit programs and bus configurations from experimental smallsats to operational constellations. This position takes responsibility for all local customer and program activities following in orbit checkout and handover of the satellites to the end customer, while continuing to work for the mission success of our customers. You may be managing space programs in missile warning and missile defense, communications, advanced space, or intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. You will be integral in building a team of engineers and experts to support in-flight programs and grow the location over time. As such, this position requires a highly motivated problem solver who can work independently and efficiently, with a focus on system engineering and satellite sustainment. This position will require up to six months at our headquarters in El Segundo, CA for training.
This position's internal job code is Program Management Spec. Our team is currently hiring for level 5.
Responsibilities
- Program manager for operational satellite systems
- Responsible and accountable for on-time, on-budget delivery
- Work closely with the Customer and Mission Operations Lead to determine tasking priority, scheduling, and maintenance activities, including staffing and engineering support
- Coordinate across Millennium teams to support on-orbit anomaly investigations and contingency operations
- Coordinate closely with engineers and program managers in El Segundo, CA to conduct periodic trending analysis, ensure lessons learned and experience from on orbit operations is flowed back to the factory
- Collaborate closely with the customer to ensure mission success, conduct regular status and schedule updates, and brief both Millennium and Customer leadership
- Work to adapt and evolve our on orbit satellites to new uses and changing needs for the customer community
- Support occasional off-nominal working hours during critical 24/7 mission operations activities
- Occasional travel to headquarters in El Segundo, CA
Minimum Qualifications
- This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or the physical sciences/ computer science
- 2 years experience in satellite operations, satellite system engineering, or equivalent
- 1 year experience as a project manager or equivalent managing high-complexity systems
- Working knowledge of satellite subsystems, ground systems, space missions
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years experience leading satellite operations in a Flight Director or similar role
- Experience managing large satellite fleets
- Excellent leadership and inter-personal skills
- Positive attitude and resiliency
- Experience with rapid development projects
- Experience working with US Government customers
- Excellent teamwork and communications skills
- Proven ability to deliver on-time, on-budget
- Master's Degree in engineering or similar technical field
- Experience with Intelligence Community and Department of Defense customer communities and project management practices

Summary Pay-Range
- Level 5: $146,200 - $215,000
