Job Summary We are seeking an Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineer with valuable experience in spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing for a full-time position at our El Segundo facility in California. The selected candidate will be member of the Assembly, Test & Launch Operations (ATLO) peer team and will support hands-on spacecraft integration and testing as well as integration planning and keeping the program on track with cost and schedule.
This position’s internal job code is Test & Evaluation Engineer . Our team is currently hiring for level 2 - 3.
Responsibilities
Planning and performing electrical and mechanical integration tasks in a cleanroom environment
Developing integration plans and schedules
Maintaining cost, schedule, and workforce for programs
Developing integration and test procedures for flight hardware derived from system test plans, requirements, drawings, schematics, etc.
Generating system test scripts in python for spacecraft automated testing
Performing Safe-To-Mate procedures on flight hardware
Performing Assembly procedures on flight hardware
Performing Functional test procedures on flight hardware
Acting as Test Conductor during spacecraft system testing
Documenting, analyzing, and troubleshooting unexpected discrepancies in valuable spacecraft hardware and software
Engage with multiple stakeholders across a wide range of technical and programmatic disciplines
Managing a team of ATLO engineers
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or related Engineering and 2+ years of relevant working experience
Familiar with using standard test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters, Current Probes, Power Supplies, Electronic Loads, etc.)
For Electrical or Aerospace Engineering background: Strong knowledge of electrical engineering circuit design principles, grounding, ESD and spacecraft subsystems
For Mechanical Engineering background: Strong knowledge of mechanical assemblies and processes
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing work assignments
Ability to work in a small team-oriented, fast paced environment
Knowledge of common Spacecraft Subsystems
Knowledge of Space Systems validation and verification
Strong attention to detail
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (More information on this process can be found by following the Mandatory Security Clearance and Access Process Disqualifying Criteria link which is listed in the job posting).
Preferred Qualifications
Prior career experience writing and executing procedures
Experience in fast-paced, small-team test environment with spacecraft flight hardware
Prior experience with Python and/or scripted test procedures
Familiarity with Jira, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Visio
Ability to travel for launch site integration
Prior experience leading a team

Summary Pay-Range
Level 2: $80,750 - $118,750
Level 3: $96,900 - $142,500
