Job Summary As an RF and Communications Engineer, you will link our satellites and ground stations. Your communications links will efficiently and securely transfer data and commands between the ground and orbit, using both traditional, proven technologies and advanced developments.
This position's internal job code is TECEN-Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for level 4 or 5.
Responsibilities
Performs space vehicle mission trade studies related to communications links
Identifies & defines communications system requirements
Identifies appropriate communications technologies to meet requirements
Performs make/buy trades on communications technologies
Manages sub-contracts for communications procurement
Develops Millennium's own communications technologies from concept to flight readiness
Creates communications subsystem manufacturing, integration and verification documents
Performs communication subsystem manufacturing, integration and verification
Manage cost, schedule and risk in the form of earned value management for your subsystem
Operates communications systems on orbit
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of relevant experience or Masters Degree and 7+ years of relevant experience. • Experience with space or aviation RF & Communications system design, analysis, subsystem component selection, and system evaluation. • Experience calculating link budgets including atmospheric & environmental effects. • Experience defining antenna requirements and developing antenna systems. For example, pattern, gain, usage, pointing allocations, gimbal design, and/or power amplifier selection. • Strong bias for getting things done with collaboration but minimal regimentation in a new emerging aerospace environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint) • Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with implementing various digital communication techniques in digital hardware (including general purpose processors and/or FPGAs) • Experience designing, implementing, and testing antennas. • Experience designing, implementing, and testing radios from piece parts level. • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams including system engineers, thermal and mechanical designers, and analysts, as well as environmental testing engineers. • Ability to understand and efficiently work and switch between a variety of projects simultaneously to support varying business needs. • Master's Degree or higher. • 12+ years of relevant experience • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Summary Pay-Range
Level 4: $126,650 - $186,250
Level 5: $155,550 - $228,750
