Job Summary
The Helpdesk Support Technician will be a hands-on member of the technical support team responsible for Millennium Space Systems PC desktop and laptop configuration, mobile device, and application support. This is an internal customer-facing role, and requires excellent prioritization, responsiveness, and customer service, along with excellent verbal communication skills.

In consultation with the IT team, the helpdesk support technician contributes to the efficient allocation of computer hardware and software resources, maintains business applications, and ensures the reliability and sustainability of information and communication resources.

Using effective communication, technical, and analytical skills the helpdesk support technician assists in management of projects and provides technical support including maintenance and upgrading of resources. In keeping with Millennium Space Systems values and competencies, the helpdesk support technician develops and maintains positive working relationships with all contacts internal and external to Millennium Space Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment including Windows: 10 Pro and Enterprise, Linux: Redhat, Ubuntu, Debian; Mac OSX; Mobile: iOS, and Android
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, Office 365, application servers, and administrative systems in a primarily Microsoft Windows environment
  • Diagnose and quickly resolve a wide range of Windows applications such as Microsoft Teams,  Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Able to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members while being able to work individual on assigned tasks.
  • Able to proactively identify concerns and issues and provide solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, and remote-control tools
  • Experience identifying and removing viruses, spyware, and malware.
  • Use tools such as Dell KACE, USMT, and PXE boot, to copy and customize operating system configurations for deployment, including image creation and maintenance.
  • Performs general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, printers and any other authorized peripheral equipment.
  • Take ownership and responsibility of queries, issues and problems assigned through the helpdesk and complete these within the approved SLA’s.
  • Develop trends by monitoring and analyzing incoming calls, problems, and support requests.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field or three (3) years applicable experience.
  • Industry certifications which include A+, N+ and/or MCTS/MCITP or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of PC’s and desktop hardware.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
  • Willingness to support IT needs outside of normal business hours.
