Job Summary As an Embedded Software Developer, you will design and implement the code that runs most intimately on our satellite computing hardware. Your code will process signals from sensors and actuators, link distributed computing nodes, and provide the real-time hardware support functions required by applications software developers.
Define and develop software requirements, architectures and designs suited for fault tolerant systems
Rapidly prototype to prove out the architecture/design concepts, quantify technical risk
Implement designs in C/C++, integrate software components, create and run unit tests, validate on Hardware-in-the-Loop and release real-time embedded solutions
Implement and customize board support software
Design, code and test software for real-time operations
Coordinate with hardware, control and system engineers to plan, develop, and perform system verification and qualification, assessing the outputs and documenting the results to ensure software products that meet system requirements and safety-critical standards
Design, code and test software for peripheral interface support and network connections
Develop and document software interfaces
Work with hardware engineers to verify hardware-hardware and hardware-software interfaces
Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and 2 years of applicable experience
Experience in C and C++ programming
Experience in Python programming
Experience with Linux in an embedded environment
Experience in Embedded Linux Development
Experience with concurrent HW/SW development
Experience with iterative and/or agile development processes
Experience with serial data protocols (HDLC, I2C, SPI)
Experience in Verilog or VHDL design and test
Digital Signal Processing and Digital Communications
