Job Summary The Configuration Management Team has an immediate need for an experienced Senior Configuration Specialist to provide Hardware and Software Configuration Management (CM) support onsite. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, adaptable, reliable and effective while performing all facets of Configuration Management activities; including the establishment, administration and execution of processes throughout the product’s lifecycle, such as, the coordination and facilitation of Change Requests, impact assessments, Change Control Boards (CCBs) and implementation of changes in concert with System’s Engineering and across the Enterprise.
Partner with Systems Engineers on the business and technical process for establishing and maintaining consistency of a product’s attributes and design throughout the product life cycle change process.
Serve as the Configuration Management Point of Contact for all change related activities throughout the product lifecycle, internally and externally.
Responsible for Configuration and Data Management activities including configuration identification, planning, status accounting, configuration control, verification and audit.
Prepare drawing/document trees and peer reviews in concert with Systems Engineering, Program Controls and Scheduling.
Manage configuration control activities including Requests for Deviations, Change Requests (CR’s), and Change Notices (CN’s).
Work closely with peer, program and engineering teams to support the development, analysis, verification and change control of product baselines.
Maintain configuration control log of all change control events and tasks (CRs, CO/CN’s, associated meetings minutes, etc.).
Facilitate Assessment, Review and Change Boards for all class of changes to ensure effected documents are updated, approved, packaged and audited appropriately prior to submittal for release.
Support Product Data Management (PDM), dataset libraries, software development, ERP implementation, applications and associated processes.
Assess, plan, implement and train stakeholders on Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) programs / processes.
Work with engineers in planning for and implementing a transition from previous-generation PDM and CAD tools to newer, modern systems that provide additional capabilities.
Assist in the implementation of configuration/data management plans and in the delivery of program data to authorized users.
Work across multiple programs that are performing engineering design work throughout the product life cycle efficiently, effectively and within deadlines.
Collaborate and coordinate with Flight Software, Ground Operations and GNC to ensure appropriate application of these responsibilities within the software development sphere.
Actively participate in continuous improvements projects with CM team members.
Co-maintain and revise relevant CM procedures, process and work instructions with CM Team Members and facilitates revisions with stakeholders and contributors.
Train stakeholders/internal customers on internal CM procedures and work instructions and disseminate.
Review and interpret standards, contracts and associated documents and apply or flow down as appropriate.
Review and disseminate CM relevant standards, CDRLs and or DIDs.
Interpret engineering drawing practices and apply them to work products under formal control
Represent Configuration Management in meetings, reviews, audits, training and with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, and or equivalent work experience
At least 5 years’ practical experience in Product Lifecycle Management role for Aerospace/defense organizations in hardware configuration management
Practical experience with PLM tools and software
Experience leading Change Control activities for hardware or software.
Proficient contract review and dissemination skills
Exceptional business judgment who can prioritize and quickly alter direction in a constantly changing environment and firm deadlines without slip in deliverables.
Personable, detail oriented, proactive and reliable individual with demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Possess exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Active TS/SSBI Clearance
Program Management Certification (PMP)
NDIA Configuration and Data Management Certification
Practical experience with implementing EIA-649C, AS9100D and or related standards
PDM/PLM Administrator experience
Previous experience implementing or actively participating in ERP implementation for change control.
