Surface Mount Technology Operator

Job Summary
As Surface Mount Technology Operator, you will be an integral part of the state-of-the art surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly facility. Using this facility, you and your team will produce high-reliability electronics assemblies for Millenniums satellites and components. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Load, calibrate, operate & maintain all Surface Mount Technology machinery
  • Assist in management of Surface Mount Technology machinery part Inventory
  • Implement quality control and continual improvement for the Surface Mount Technology Assembly Line
  • Maintain general cleanliness of the Surface Mount Technology Production area and equipment
  • Produce high-mix, low volume, high-reliability electronic circuit board assemblies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of working experience OR an Associate's degree or 10+ years of working experience in a relevant field 
  • Knowledge of PCB Data Exports
  • Knowledge of Electronics Parts, IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, AS9100, ESD Protocol and SPC
  • Experience Operating SMT Equipment Including: Hand Soldering, Hand tools, Solder Paste Jet Printer, Pick & Place Machine, Reflow Oven, Automated Inspection, Cleaning, and/or Electrical Test Equipment
  • Able to Read and Comprehend Process Documentation, Including Bills of Materials and Assembly Drawings
  • Able to Identify Component Packages
  • General PC skills; Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Aerospace or Space Manufacturing, NASA-STD-8739
  • Experience Programming with Gerbers or CAD files
  • Experience Programming with Pick & Place Files
  • Experience with Thermal Profiling
  • Experience with X-ray 
  • Experience with Inventory Management & Procurement

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Frequent standing, sitting, stopping, kneeling, crawling, and squatting is required
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs to transfer or move tools, parts, equipment, containers and materials
  • Have the ability to operate standard computer software (Microsoft office and ERP), equipment and keyboards
  • Able to work in normal office as well as inside and outside industrial working environments
  • Possess the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
  • Have ability to fly on regular commercial airlines to offsite locations and launch facilities
