Job Summary As a Spacecraft Electrical Systems Engineer, your designs will power Millennium satellites -- literally. We are looking for talented electrical engineers to design and implement satellite electronics. From ideas and sketches on white boards to implementation in PCBs, you will work closely with other spacecraft engineers to architect and develop power subsystem designs from end-to-end.
Design printed circuit boards (PCBs), electronic circuits, components, power and control systems, and wiring and cable harnesses
Evaluate circuit card and electronic unit design, troubleshoot performance anomalies, and diagnose test failures. Develop mitigation plans and identify impacts to subsystems and spacecraft performance
Provide analysis support for electrical power generation, storage, regulation, distribution systems, along with environmental, acoustic, shock, mass properties, deployment, reliability, and mission assurance, to verify the satellite design will satisfy the system requirements
Execute a variety of moderately complex engineering assignments and provide detailed instructions in the design and/or project management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools and acceptance equipment
Perform requirements flow-down and traceability and evaluating the verification test results to satisfy requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar major
Experience in electrical design
Methodical design, testing, and troubleshooting capabilities
Advanced knowledge of applicable industry and/or academic practices and standards in circuit design, simulation, and schematic capture; and/or PCB layout, fabrication and assembly
Experience with basic assembly/rework stations (soldering iron, mechanical assembly)
Must be versatile and able to perform and manage multiple tasks concurrently
Experience with Altium Designer, Matlab, and SPICE
Experience with satellite programs and a variety of satellite busses
Ability to create/revise technical documents
Experience with early life-cycle satellite engineering activities, spacecraft integration and test, and launch operations
