Job Summary
As a Ground Software Engineer, you work with Commercial off the shelf & Government off the shelf (COTS/GOTS), as well as in-house systems, to develop software that will communicate with and control a spacecraft during mission operations. This position will be responsible for all parts of the software development life cycle: from early design, through full software and integration testing, to mission operations after launch and will interface with other internal teams such as Flight Software, RF Communications, and Systems Engineering to create software to meet the needs of the internal users.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related field
  • Experience with Python, Java, C and/or C++ languages
  • Experience with Linux and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Databases and SQL
  • Comfortable communicating technical details both verbally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of message queues and message passing frameworks
  • Knowledge of distributed system design and development
  • Knowledge of low-level communication over networks and serial devices
  • Knowledge of CCSDS
  • Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink
  • Familiarity with aerospace systems
