Operations Research Analyst

Job Summary
The Operations Research Analyst will collect data, conduct analysis, and make recommendations to drive efficiency at Millennium Space Systems. As a member of a small, agile team, they will have opportunities to shape both the direction of the Operations Research team group and the trajectory of Millennium Space Systems as a whole. The Operations Research Analyst will work cross-functionally to develop best practices for data collection, management, and analysis; and will play a critical role in the continuous improvement of processes within Millennium Space Systems.


  • Collect and validate Manufacturing, Business, and Engineering data to support ERP implementation
  • Summarize and visualize data to support the Manufacturing organization
  • Build forecasts to aid Millennium in planning and executing future work
  • Support the development of Key Performance Indicators, and report those KPIs periodically to stakeholders
  • Provide data-driven answers to business questions
  • Study processes within Millennium and identify opportunities to execute them those processes more efficiently

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Statistics or a related field
  • One year of experience in analytical roles, whether full-time, internship, or academic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Self-starter and a team player

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of T-SQL
  • Knowledge of R, Python (including NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn), or other statistical programming language
  • Experience working with financial data, and understanding of fundamental accounting principles
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems
  • Experience creating and validating time series forecasts
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS)
  • Ability to apply for a TS/SCI clearance
