Material Planner and Scheduler

As a Material Planner and Scheduler at Millennium Space Systems you will work with multiple teams to deliver product on schedule and communicate status of hardware in a engineer-to-order environment to deliver high-performance space systems rapidly and affordably.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of work orders, material planning, and demand for the internal Products team
  • Partners with the Master Program Scheduler, Engineers and Manufacturing teams to ensure that delivery dates can be achieved
  • Support Manufacturing Scums and identify blockers or challenges
  • Issue purchase requests for required materials for products
  • Work with accounting to initiate and track inventory transfers for products
  • Ensure work orders are in their proper place and are proceeding to meet internal delivery dates 
  • Help the organization to grow by socializing and developing material management and scheduling best practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of scheduling and material planning experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment (preferably aerospace or electronic fabrication)
  • Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience using MRP and ERP systems
  • Ability to interface and influence at all levels of an organization and thrive in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated teamwork and written/oral communications skills
  • Existing security clearance or ability to get security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Management, Business Management, Business Administration or related field of study or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge or experience in purchasing
  • APICS or CPM certification
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical/schedule constraints to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in an unsupervised environment
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Project experience (or similar project scheduling software)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in assisting small teams with planning, scheduling and executing to schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver tool and process improvements
  • Experience in launching a MRP system
  • Experience with aerospace environments especially other than traditional, large prime contractors
