Desktop Support Technician

Job Summary
The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for Millennium Space Systems' information technology desktop and laptop configuration, mobile device, and application support. This is an internal customer-facing role, and requires excellent prioritization, responsiveness, and customer service, along with excellent verbal communication skills.

Using effective communication, as well as technical and analytical skills; you will manage projects, provide technical support (including maintenance and upgrading of resources), and resolve operational issues. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers, and administrative systems
  • Diagnose and quickly resolve a wide range of Windows applications and networking problems to help minimize downtime
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity in a LAN/WAN environment
  • Requesting and coordinating vendor support
  • Able to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non- technical team members
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange management console and remote control tools
  • Use tools and methodologies to load, copy and customize operating system configurations for deployment, including image creation and maintenance
  • Performs general preventative maintenance tasks on computers, laptops, printers and any other authorized peripheral equipment
  • Take ownership and responsibility of queries, issues and problems assigned through the helpdesk and complete these within the approved SLA’s
  • Develop trends by monitoring and analyzing incoming calls, problems and support requests

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Top Secret SCI security clearance REQUIRED
  • ​College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 4 years equivalent work experience.
  • Industry certifications which include A+, N+ and/or MCTS/MCITP desired
  • Excellent technical knowledge of PC’s and desktop hardware.
  • Willingness to support any and all IT needs outside of normal business hours
